Fish Tacos

INGREDIENTS

  • White fish fillets (cod, tilapia), about 500g

  • Corn or flour tortillas

  • Shredded cabbage

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

  • Hot sauce (of your choice)

  • Lime juice, for drizzling

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

PREPARATION

Prepare the Fish: Ensure the fish fillets are fresh and well cleaned. If needed, remove the skin and bones. Cut the fillets into appropriately sized pieces for the tacos.

  1. Seasoning the Fish: In a bowl, prepare a marinade by mixing lime juice, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Place the fish pieces in the marinade and let them rest for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

  2. Cook the Fish: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil or your choice of cooking oil. When the skillet is hot, add the marinated fish pieces. Cook for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until the fish is cooked through and lightly browned.

  3. Preparing the Tortillas: Warm the tortillas by heating them slightly in a hot skillet or in the microwave. This will make them more pliable and easier to fold.

  4. Assembling the Tacos: Take a warmed tortilla and place a portion of cooked fish on it. Top with shredded cabbage, fresh cilantro, and hot sauce according to your taste. You can also add slices of avocado or tomato for extra flavors and textures.

  5. Fold the Tacos: Fold the tortillas in half to form tacos and gently press to hold the ingredients in place.

  6. Repeat the Process: Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and remaining ingredients until all the tacos are prepared.

Serve and Enjoy: Arrange the tacos on a serving plate and serve them immediately. Accompany them with extra lime wedges for an additional burst of freshness. Enjoy these delicious fresh fish tacos and share them with your loved ones for an unforgettable summer culinary experience.
